I am a Lecturer in Clouds at the University of Reading, Department of Meteorology. I want to improve our understanding of clouds and precipitation using both numerical simulations and observations, in particular under rapidly evolving conditions such as thunderstorm development.

Using radar observations, I can study the internal structure of clouds and the distribution of clouds and precipitation, while simulations help me relate the clouds to the dynamics and thermodynamics of the atmosphere, which we cannot readily observe.
