Thomas Bärtschi

As Studio Audio Director at Square Enix developer, IO Interactive in Copenhagen, Thomas is responsible for bringing the audio vision of the award winning ‘Hitman’ franchise to life. In collaboration with game directors, in-house/external audio teams and other important stakeholders, Thomas strives for creative and technical solutions that effectively support the goal of creating truly immersive gaming experiences while still staying true to the overall brand. Crytek, Ubisoft, Sony, Pixar, Disney, Nintendo, LEGO and Warner Brothers are some of the clients he has worked with in the past – both directly and indirectly through audiovisual companies. Besides, he has been involved in the creation of two highly praised game engines – CryEngine and Glacier2. His skillset and expertise within sound design, composition, dialogue production, implementation and tools development makes him a highly valuable team-player. He holds a Tonmeister Master’s degree from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen and has taught and led workshops on adaptive game audio at several conferences, universities, music associations and conservatories.
