Thomas Coletto
Engineer, Small Business Owner, and Designer in Phoenix, AZ
I'm Thomas Coletto, an engineer based in North Phoenix, Arizona, where I live with my wife and children. I'm a Christian, husband, father, and cigar enthusiast with deep roots in both technical innovation and spiritual tradition.
Professionally, I serve as a VDC Engineer at a private construction company, where I specialize in Building Information Modeling (BIM), 3D/4D coordination, and process piping systems for critical infrastructure—particularly water and wastewater treatment facilities. My background includes over 20 years of combined experience in electrical engineering, 3D modeling, and graphic design. Before transitioning to VDC, I spent more than a decade as a Journeyman Electrician, giving me a practical edge in constructability and field coordination.
My toolkit includes expert-level use of software such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Blender, Maya, Unreal Engine, Civil 3D, and Synchro 4D. I’ve developed in-house training programs, created custom Revit families, and spearheaded prefabrication strategies that improve efficiency and accuracy across engineering teams. I’m also a Bentley Accredited SYNCHRO 4D Professional and hold multiple certifications in BIM management, Adobe Creative tools, OSHA, and NFPA 70E compliance.
Outside of work, I have a wide range of interests—from astronomy, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality to in-depth Bible study and Orthodox Christianity. I am a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church in Phoenix and a devoted student of the Early Church Fathers, Patristic theology, and Orthodox liturgical life. I’ve curated and cataloged an extensive theological library, with works ranging from The Philokalia to modern commentaries and catechisms. My passion for truth and tradition also fuels my writing, research, and online discussions.
I’m also a collector of rugged, functional watches, particularly JDM G-Shocks, with a strong interest in solar, radio-controlled, and field-ready timepieces. I balance my technical mind with a love for nature, design, and craftsmanship—whether through horology, Orthodox iconography, or landscape planning for my Phoenix home garden.
When I’m not on the job or with my family, you’ll likely find me tinkering with new automation workflows, enjoying a fine cigar, or reflecting on the writings of the saints.
