Thomas has written award-winning films & directed well-known talent such as Brian Cox (X-Men, The Bourne Identity, Braveheart), James Cosmo (Game of Thrones, Chronicles of Narnia, Troy), Sylvester McCoy (The Hobbit, Dr. Who) and the well-loved British morning TV host, Lorraine Kelly.
His films have been invited to over 200 international film festivals, winning 26 awards. He has had the opportunity to work with exceptional talent from Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific.
Thomas is a creative storyteller with a long-term vision building on his cross-cultural experiences and grounding in science, world-affairs, and history. He engaged audiences weaving socially relevant themes into his films SNAP (2012) about self-empowerment (anti-bullying) & ocean-health and QUEST (2013) illustrating the importance of biodiversity & innovating for peace despite tribal conflict.
He holds a BS in Mathematics from Auckland University & a Masters in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco.
