Thomas Rangel began his career in the medical field in 1999 as a certified surgical technologist at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. In 2004, Thomas joined the US Airforce as a medic, serving four years. He served two tours at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, supporting the care and transport of thousands of injured soldiers. Thomas graduated from Pacific Union College with his bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2011 and master's in 2022. He currently is in a doctoral program at Samuel Merritt University.

Previously, Thomas worked for four years in pediatrics and 19 years in the operating room. Presently, he works full-time as a charge nurse overseeing two urology clinics for Kaiser Permanente-Napa/Solano area.
