Throughout his career in finance and international trading, Thomas R. Grossman has maintained involvement in a vast range of professional, charitable, and personal activities. A 1988 alumnus of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Thomas R. Grossman regularly commits his energy and resources to various school improvement projects. As a former finance major at Lehigh University, Thomas R. Grossman understood the need for updated facilities to increase student interest in business and better prepare young minds for the real world. In 2005, Thomas R. Grossman joined together with fellow alumni and business leaders, Marc Paley, Joseph Perella, John Callies, and others to donate $10 million to the College of Business and Economics at Lehigh University. Through his Aeneas Capital Management Challenge, Thomas R. Grossman matched all contributions to name the Trading Room of the Financial Services Lab after noted Lehigh Finance Professor Jim Greenleaf.
Thomas R. Grossman serves as Vice President on the Board of Directors at Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City, where he helps to guide the financial activities of the long-running mentorship organization, which matches children with dedicated volunteers from all walks of life.
When not running his international equities-centered hedge fund, Union Avenue Advisors, LP, Thomas R. Grossman ensures the continued success of Blue Chip Farms in Wallkill, New York. For nearly 10 years, Thomas R. Grossman has owned and operated Blue Chip Farms, where he breeds champion racing horses. In October 2009, Thomas R. Grossman received the Excelsior Award from the Monticello-Goshen Chapter USHWA for his work at Blue Chip Farms. In his quieter moments, Thomas R. Grossman enjoys playing golf, listening to music, and reading. Thomas R. Grossman counts Alexandre Dumas, Franz Kafka, Ayn Rand, Robertson Davies, and J.D. Salinger among his favorite authors.
