I'm a journalist with the Austrian newspaper "Wiener Zeitung" in Vienna. Before I worked with various publications in Vienna, starting at the City desk of a Viennese weekly, the National Desk and the International Desk of two Austrian Newsweeklies and the Viennese daily "Die Presse". I was covering SE-Europe (the war in Kosovo in 1999), various crisis in Africa (Sierra Leone, Congo, Burundi), the war in Chechnya and reported from New York in the aftermath of 9/11. I reported from Afghanistan for a couple of weeks after that, and from Baghdad during the war in 2003. I returned to these two countries on a regular basis after that. I'm a Biologist with University Degrees from the Universities of Salzburg and Vienna. I regularly lecture, and publish on topics related to international relations, resources, war-reporting and journalism in the post-Gutenberg-era.
