Thomas founded interactive agency Hot Tomali Communications in 1998. Hot Tomali was named International Small Agency of the Year by industry icon Advertising Age in 2010 and provides technology and marketing solutions for clients such as Electronic Arts, City of Vancouver, and 7-Eleven. Thomas' work has received numerous awards including: Cannes International Advertising Festival, London International Advertising Festival, Graphis, Applied Arts and the Advertising & Design Club.
In 2007 Thomas joined Cientis Technologies as a co-founder. Cientis Technologies is an international developer of web-based tools to assist clinicians and their medical practice teams in the selection, adoption, and use of Electronic Health Records systems and related healthcare technologies. Cientis' platform helps clinicians improve care and enhance efficiency through education on the effective use of health information technology.
In 2013 Thomas founded Cheddar Labs, an online community that rewards retail sales associates with prizes and branded SWAG in exchange for training on the products they sell. The program is free to sales associates, and is funded by brands and product manufacturers.
Thomas volunteers regularly within the marketing and educational communities, and he's been asked to judge numerous creative award shows including London International Advertising Awards. He's a popular public speaker, having presented at many events including: the Advertising Age Small Agency Conference in Denver, CO, the Usability in Health IT conference in Washington D.C., the BC Association of Integrated Markets in Vancouver, BC and the Alliance Health Conference in San Francisco, CA.
