Hire me

Hey, you! I am Thomas and I am itching to get back out there. I am recently deactivated after several longer·than·average, volunteer deployments with the American Red Cross.

This site is to tell you who I am and to explain why I have not been »paid« for the last five months.

I have, indeed, been working in a professional environment — both in IT and customer service departments — but I did not receive one, single, penny for my thousands of hours.

Reach out to me, if I don't catch you first, and we can bridge the gap between me: "making a difference in our community" and me: "making money for personal gain".

My last Computer Analyst position concluded in December 2018 and I took an unusual turn, I admit, to volunteer full·time all over the state of Texas, each hundreds of miles apart from the next.

While I am WHOLLY appreciative of my time volunteering — as it was 2011 since my last FT volunteer adventure — it has slightly stunted my career growth due to a “lack of recent experience” ¹✮ !

Working ≥10 hours a day for free (I do not pay for any expense but my wage earned is $0.00) is not a lack of experience, nor is it a "job". It is professional work but it is not the norm and, as such, many employers are mightily scared of a qualified, experienced and educated technician that, seemingly, comes out of no where AND that is not ›already‹ employed. Eek!

⭒It seems fishy, but I have a perfectly reasonable explanation!

[This website] enters stage left.⭒

I do not regret spending my time outside the private, corporate jungle. I must jump from the frying pan straight into the fire but the pilot light seems to be out and I am a bit chilly: this is where YOU come in, you glorious hiring manager ²✮ you!

~define.null

1⭒ lack of recent experience : is not how my 'sacrifices, efforts and smiles' should be described: but that is how it looks on paper. [is anything, ever, how it seems]

2⭒ not a glorious hiring manager? Whether you are a hiring manager or not, you are glorious · chin up and big smile. I thank you for reading this article —whether it benefits me or otherwise — and I would greatly appreciate it should you share this with YOUR hiring manager or just anyone in general. :›

~Conclusion

This site, solely, exists to explain why I have not had a paying IT job since December 2018, as this was written May 23, 2019.
