Thomas Wheeler

I have over 9 years’ experience within the NSW planning environment including positions in both State and Local Government and the private sector in development assessment, development advisory, heritage management, bushfire protection and prelodgement advisory services. I am a qualified planner with a Bachelor of Urban Regional Planning through the University of New England (graduated 2010) and possess heritage skills and qualifications, having completed the Graduate Diploma in Cultural Heritage (Deakin University).

Through the varied roles across all the sectors, I have developed proven skills in negotiation and mediation involving external community members, clients and experts, as well as internal clients and experts. I have also developed a high level of customer service, which includes interpersonal communication, teamwork and written and verbal communication. These skills were present from the outset at Penrith Council, but over time and through different situations as a development advisory officer I have been able to gain an expertise in dealing with difficult situations and applicants.
