Jacqueline Thornton
Hello! I am a 24-year-old Princeton University graduate newly relocated to Hollywood. I have three years of experience working with students from elementary school to college in a variety of subjects, with a specialty in writing.
I come from a family of teachers and grew up in their classrooms, learning firsthand what it takes to help children succeed. I pride myself on being able to relate to my students, quickly identify their learning styles, and break down the material in ways that make sense. I strive to form a personal connection with each student I work with. In fact, three of my past students even attended my wedding this summer! Whether your student needs a weekly homework helper, a writing or college applications coach, or an expert guide through the forests of test prep - I can help him/her strengthen their academic muscles and achieve success!
In addition to being a tutor, I am also a filmmaker and writer and am currently working on my second novel. At Princeton, I studied Anthropology, Visual Arts, and Creative Writing, and was also the valedictorian of my high school class with a GPA of 4.8. I'm a huge film and television nerd, love science fiction, Harry Potter (duh), mermaids, peanut butter, my dog, Oreo, and my husband - not necessarily in that order! :) The fact that I now live so close to Disneyland, 6 Flags, and Knott's Berry Farm makes me ridiculously happy, and even though I'm 24, I still have glow-in-the-dark stars on my ceiling.
