Throwing Chairs
Throwing Chairs was formed in March of 2012 when Tyler decided that he was tired of being a solo act. We’re from Southern Indiana and are a contemporary Christian band, playing music similar to Chris Tomlin or Building 429. We play originals, and covers of contemporary Christian worship songs. We are currently in the process of recording our debut album.
Tyler Pavey - Lead vocals/guitar
Tyler was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Darren and Dee. He taught himself in every instrument he plays, as well as teaching his sisters Laikyn and Kailyn guitar and drums, respectively. He is currently attending Indiana University pursuing a Vocal degree.
Tyler Yamguchi - Piano
Tyler, more commonly known as Fez, was born in California. He moved to Kentucky when he was young. He originally played bass guitar in the band, but moved to piano when Patrick Berryman joined on. He also plays guitar.
Laikyn Pavey - Backup vocals/guitar
Laikyn was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Darren and Dee. Along with guitar, she dabbles on the xylophone and bass guitar. She will be attending Indiana University this year pursuing a Vocal, as well as an English, degree.
Kailyn Pavey - Drums
Kailyn was born in Louisville, Kentucky to Darren and Dee. She's the youngest member of the band, a whopping ten year age difference between oldest and youngest members. She may be the youngest, but her drumming is beyond her years.
Patrick Berryman - Bass guitar
Patrick was born in New Albany, Indiana to Mark Berryman and Cheryl Kost. Along with bass guitar, he plays a bit of guitar and drums, having been taught these instruments by Tyler. He was originally the band 'lackey', but got promoted to full-time member in October of 2012.
As a band:
Let it be said that every member of the band is a hardcore gamer, racking up tens of thousands of gamerscore amongst the five of them. Favorite games include Call of Duty, Halo, and Minecraft. Oh, and we love the movie 'School of Rock', for obvious reasons. (Okay, fine, you caught us. It's because of Jack Black.) Besides play video games, watch youtube videos, and play music all day, every day, there's not much else we do together.
