Hey, I’m Tiana. I am a teacher and artist with a vision for education delivered through shared creative experiences based in the natural world. I have a background in the Steiner -Waldorf model which compliments my belief that meaningful learning is a holistic experience. Each lesson is crafted to touch the head, heart and hands of the child. It is my desire to reawaken the sense of wonder that is given to us at birth through painting, fiber arts, drawing ,writing, sculpting and storytelling, all within the extraordinary landscape of Flint Hill Farm. When students take in material through the intellect, there is comprehension. When they make art, they experience creative freedom, an activity of the soul. If education assists in building capacities as a full human being, then artistic work is as essential as intellectual and physical work.We love and care for the things that are part of us. My wish is to create an environment in which the child sees themselves as part of the world and the people in it and through that connection treasure their place here.
