My name is Tiernan Quinn and I own and operate Green Civil Con. We are the experts in our field, finding solutions in the complex world of civil infrastructure and delivering quality, on-time work to our clients. We take on the jobs that other companies are scared of doing, and our consistent, reliable delivery is what has earned us the right to compete on a larger stage.
When I took over the company at age 19, I was immediately confronted with the task of running a successful civil industry construction company. My core values of Loyalty and Communication came from my father, who taught me everything I now use to make my company the success that it is. He taught me to look after the people that look after you. My commitment to my company is simply a commitment to the team I have working with me. I don’t give orders. I ask questions and I listen. It’s not about me, it’s the team that defines our success.
I also value honesty and transparency, both for my staff and for my clients. I believe that my word is what defines me. If I tell my clients a deadline, that’s when it is finished. The construction industry is just filled with too much noise. I want open and direct communication to set us apart.
Although our beginnings were small in civil utilities, we had the opportunity to work direct for Patrick Stevedore on a massive project at Port Botany. Our small team was tackling major projects for the first time where a delay could cost shipping companies hundreds of thousands of dollars. Every single deadline we had on that project was delivered early. Because our team was reliable and hard-working, we extended that $2 million contract into an $11 million contract in 10 months. We are now in the stages of setting up a Major Projects Division alongside our Utilities Division because of that recognition and success.
Over the next 5 years, we will become the recognizable leaders in our field. I believe that with a core team and consistent results, Green Civil Con will establish itself as the first choice in the complex civil construction industry.
