Tiffani N. Carter

Salve!

My name is Tiffani N. Carter and I am originally from Cincinnati, OH. I attended Northern Kentucky University where I earned a BA in Communication Studies and a MA in Communication (emphasis in marketing and cultural studies) with a specialization in College Student Development. Due to my husband accepting a new position in February 2013, I now reside in Indianapolis, IN. Since I resigned my position with The Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County to move here, I decided this was a great opportunity to pursue my ultimate passion! I specifically chose Kent's MLIS program because not only did my former branch manager highly recommend it, I know of others who attended and valued the program as well.

My hobbies include writing, writing, reading and more writing! I also enjoy movie watching and Netflix marathons with my husband (so sad to see 'Breaking Bad' come to an end...). My primary career interests include: Community Outreach (programming/event planning, technology training, reference assistance...) and Marketing (creating signage, brochures, flyers...) and my goal is to find a position where I can continue to increase my skills in those areas. I am also interested in academic librarianship. What I am most looking forward to is finding my "place" and "voice" in this career field; an area that I can build a solid foundation. :-)

I currently work for The Indianapolis Public Library system where I was recently promoted to a computer lab assistant posititon.
