Tiffany Ang

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Like a good Asian girl, Tiffany Ang promised her parents she wouldn't venture into the world of journalism - "How are you going to pay the bills?"

But in an ironic twist, she soon realised that she possessed the relevant skills for a broadcast journalist - an eye for beautiful visuals, a good listening ear, a passion to keep the unjust accountable and a wanderlust. Suffice to say, her parents weren't too thrilled - "Can't you stay out of the sun and get a desk job?"

Since then, Tiffany has traveled extensively across the Asia-Pacific region making award-winning documentaries for Al Jazeera English's current affairs program 101 East.
Her stories have brought her to conflict and disaster areas - from the chaos of India to the jungles of Myanmar and the rubble of Tacloban, to name a few. Before that she was a current affairs Producer with Channel NewsAsia in Singapore.

A veteran journalist once told her, "You are first a human, then a journalist." It is this belief that drives her fierce passion to keep telling stories.

When she is not in her workboots, you will find Tiffany in sports shoes. Somehow she has this bizarre idea that if she keeps fit during her spare time, she can hit the road running when the job beckons. She enjoys the great outdoors and working out a sweat. Fit is the new sexy.
