I'm a newlywed trying to figure out how to integrate my new life with my old life, since I recently eloped.

I wasn't expecting all the changes that 2013 has brought thus far. Nonetheless I am still thrilled about it. I guess Morton got it right with the slogan "When it rain, it pours"

Or maybe I need a new slogan that states "When it rains it flows....like honey"

Because my life is filled with so much love, my life is sweeter. I love my husband dearly and I love my new Nigerian family.

In addition to trying to marry my new and old life together, I've been trying to marry my career and my new marriage.

Right now I'm a 2nd term AmeriCorps member. So I know more changes are coming.

But, hopefully I will be sailing down that river of honey, making the changes in my life sweet and not bitter (and by bitter I mean stressful).

In the midst of these changes, Since my husband is Nigerian and he is still in Nigeria :( We both looking forward to the day we can be together again.

Until then, together we (by we I mean my husband and I) are working to uncomplicate the complicated process called immigration.

Now I know that river of honey can get sticky and flow slowly (this must be the reason why we've been slow in getting the immigration process started).

But, it's time to speed things up with a little warm water.

I am hoping and praying this immigration project doesn't get stuck and make it hard for us to move forward with our lives together.
