My research is a body of creative artwork that is empowered by the associations of my cultural influences in terms of relationships, and the exploration of journey. The work provides a narrative that is both personal and open ended. It is self-reflective in nature and strives to capture the essence of internal dialogue while preserving and revealing the fragmentation of memory.

The work is influenced both by examining our roles as individuals and in relationships, as well as, the social persona we publicize in fragmented moments in time. The imagery depicts the nuances of life, small moments, we as humans try to preserve in our memories. The hybrid forms often result in large-scale figurative compilations, animals with human personifications, and small-scale works that represent intimate spaces. This combination creates a scale that offers a perspective of both the intimacy and vastness of an environment, and relationships. This work explores the micro expressions that are often forgotten in the grand scheme of life, but can define the preservation of a memory.

The medium of ceramics lends itself to the mission of this work through historical references and the tactile nature of the material. The clay has a unique way of capturing a moment of the artist touch and the spirit of the artist into the permanence of an object. The objects of this body of work are narrative in nature and allow for the viewer to find their own story and reflective moments.
