Tiffany R. Jansen

New York

I’m Tiffany Jansen, a freelance writer specializing in articles and copywriting.

A lifelong communicator, the written word is by far my favorite means to connect with people. I just never thought to make a career out of it.

In fact, my dream was to move to the city that never sleeps and have a long and prosperous career on Broadway. And I was on the right track, too.

I began performing semi-professionally at the age of 7 and went on to study theater at the British American Drama Academy in London and earned a degree in musical theater from The American University.

To make some extra cash between auditions, rehearsals, and performances, I worked as a substitute teacher. As much as I loved performing, it didn’t take me long to realize that the theater wasn’t for me. Not professionally anyway. I fell in love with teaching and decided it was time to change course.

I was working my way through certification courses when I met this Dutch guy. He asked me to marry him (I said yes), and I soon found myself in the Netherlands with no friends, no job, and minimal grasp of the local language.

So I started writing. First a blog. Then a series of children’s books. Then for newspapers and magazines and small businesses. Soon I was making a living with my words. And that brings us to… today.

My client list includes a communication specialist, an offshore banking organization, a web marketing consultant, an educational company, a language learning software developer, a law firm, numerous magazines, and a travel agency. I work for clients just like you in Australia, the UK, the US, the Netherlands, Canada, and Saudi Arabia.

The best part about my job is the number of fascinating people I’ve been able to meet: World War II Veterans, sportsmen, architects, performers, artists, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, moms… I don’t have enough appendages to count them all!

Besides, how many people get to listen to Three Dog Night or take an archery class and call it work?

These days, I’m living and writing it up in New York with my husband and our two children (one two-legged and one four-legged).
