Tiffany S. Harris

Durham, North Carolina, United States

I am Tiffany Harris, a native of Washington, DC. I recently moved to Durham, North Carolina to attend North Carolina Central University. After an extended hiatus, I decided it was time to complete my undergraduate degree, full time. Professionally, I have worked in the Health Insurance industry as a Customer Care Advocate, primarily educating consumers about their health insurance benefits and resolving member issues. The professional skills gained while providing quality service to consumers are valuable assets to my future career goals. The ability to actively listen to consumer concerns, grievances, and suggestions and to provide resolution, accommodation, as well as, education will transfer well when I am responsible for ensuring my own entrepreneurial endeavors provide quality service to consumers, clients, and investors alike. Initially, at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, I focused much of my studies on the engineering and technology fields. Previously, majoring in Computer Information System at Marymount University, I promised myself I would follow my pursuit of being a business owner.

Currently, I am a sophomore enrolled as a Business Management major with an Entrepreneurship concentration. Personally my career goal is to develop ten streams of income to create wealth. In addition to success in business, my focus is also to inform, education, and provide opportunities to other young minority entrepreneurs. I am a strong believer in building communities and providing opportunities to those that may not have much access to achieving a positive future. As a product of the inner city, I know the true value in after school activities, summer camps, the city park and recreation department, even events held at the local libraries were at my disposal, which kept me engaged in positive activities and focused on exploring my interest in math and science. To achieve this, I plan to partner with other business professionals, and explore creative and efficient ways to service the underprivileged communities and assist in propelling young academic talent into their futures. I look forward to graduating NCCU in 2018, however, in the interim I will not only gain academically, I will also develop and refine the leaderships skills necessary to effectively achieve my professional goals.
