The Honorable Tiffany Williams Brewer is a law professor, arbitrator, former judge and nonprofit CEO. Judge Brewer is an Associate Professor at Howard University School of Law and a former NJ Administrative Law Judge. She teaches courses in Evidence, Professional Responsibility, Legislation & Regulation and Black Women & the Law, and lectures and trains internationally. Her scholarly focus examines intersectional identities with themes of racial justice, ethics, gender equity, global women’s leadership.
As an arbitrator and mediator, Judge Brewer resolves commercial, employment, healthcare, consumer and securities disputes as a panelist with the AAA and FINRA panels.
Throughout her career, Judge Brewer has served in high profile leadership roles in government including as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, Deputy Chief Counsel to the NJ Governor, Chief Counsel to the Speaker of the NJ General Assembly, NJ Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, agency counsel to the NJ Civil Service Commission and Chair of the NJ State Commission of Investigation. In private practice, she served as a litigation associate at several large law firms.
As an active leader in the profession, Judge Brewer serves as Chair of the 30,000+ member Litigation Section of the American Bar Association and as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. She is also an elected member of the American Law Institute.
In addition to her legal career, Judge Brewer is a pastor and Founder/CEO of the Esther Project & the Esther Institute for the Advancement of Women and Girls. Judge Brewer is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
