Hi, I’m Tigist. Growing up, I used to hate taking pictures. My parents used to force my siblings and I to get together and say “cheese”. I always dreaded it, but of course in cooperation with them I let out a smile. They would also record us on an oldtimey camcorder.

Everytime I come back home, I catch myself looking through family albums and watching old tapes. A lot of my memories of my childhood are captured through these different forms of media.

Now, I am in college and I have the biggest obsession with taking pictures. Everywhere I go I have to take a pic, whether that’s of myself, my friends, the sunset, a random dog etc. A picture keeps my memories alive, even if I end up forgetting about it, I know I can always go back to the picture.

One of my favorite hobbies is actually scrapbooking. I love scrapbooking because it keeps all of my good memories in a single place so I can look back at them in years to come. It's a more lively and creative version of a photo album for me. I can’t wait to be able to show my kids all of my scrapbooks and be like “Yes, this was your cool mom back in 2026.”
