Tim Boivin

I am the managing director at Amendola Communications, a healthcare technology marketing and PR firm. I develop and implement public relations strategies for companies in the EHR, mobile app, mobile personal emergency response (MPERS), data analytics and patient engagement areas.

Prior to Amendola Communications, I worked at Tech Image, a leading independent high-tech PR firm. I managed operations and led an award-winning team that received the Top Tech Communicators Award from PR SourceCode five years in a row. I led the team that created the agency’s Social Media Playbook, still used by Tech Image clients as well as leading industry associations for social media campaigns. More than a dozen of Tech Image's clients were acquired by industry leaders such as Oracle, IBM, Sprint, SAS and JDA Software. I provided strategic guidance on thought leadership campaigns for top tech associations, including the Society for Information Management, CompTIA, SHARE (an IBM enterprise IT user group) and the Independent Oracle Users Group.

Earlier in my career, I served as a senior account executive for Axiom Solutions, a marketing consulting firm that provided branding, corporate identity, training and market research services for Fortune 500 healthcare clients. My clients included Abbott, SmithKline Beecham, Beckman Coulter, Ventana Medical Systems and bioMerieux.

My career began in the U.S. Army, where I was an award-winning journalist and public affairs professional who served in Georgia, Korea, Arizona, and at Stars & Stripes Europe as a bureau chief. I also worked at Army Times Publishing Company as a retail business reporter covering the military's commissaries and exchanges.

I am a graduate of Roosevelt University and the Society for Information Management’s Regional Leadership Program. I am the Director of Cary Pride Day, a beautification program that received the State of Illinois Governor’s Home Town Award for Excellence through Volunteerism. I helped start CHARACTER COUNTS! in Cary and was the first President of the Cary-Grove High School Cross Country and Track & Field Association.
