Tim Broas, a partner at Winston & Strawn, LLP, focuses primarily on civil litigation and white-collar criminal defense and also has significant experience in antitrust and securities cases, mediation and arbitration, and internal investigations for corporations. At Winston & Strawn’s office in Washington, D.C., Tim Broas represents high-profile clients in the transportation, manufacturing, investment, banking, and securities industries. Among his clients are UBS Securities, LLC; Alstom Holdings; and Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. In recent years, he has received extensive acknowledgement of his devoted service to clients, including four consecutive years of inclusion in Best Lawyers in America and four nods as a top white-collar criminal defense attorney in Washington, D.C., by Super Lawyers.

Actively involved with his professional community, Tim Broas has presented before the American Bar Association on how to recognize accounting manipulation and fraud. He also contributed to an article on ethical inducement published by Criminal Law Reporter in 2010. When not counseling clients, Broas contributes to several nonprofit organizations. He is a trustee of St. Mary’s College of Maryland and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, which provides an open forum for the country’s best minds to discuss important issues facing the nation. In addition, he has held a seat on the Council for Court Excellence Board of Directors.

Tim Broas possesses a bachelor’s degree with magna cum laude honors in economics and history from Boston College and a juris doctor from the College of William & Mary Law School. He launched his career as a law clerk in the New Jersey Supreme Court and worked for major firms in New York City and Washington, D.C., before becoming a partner at Winston & Strawn.
