Making sense of numbers has been my passion since I was a child, whether it consisted of poring over sports statistics or doing arithmetic problems. I transformed this passion into my professional goal, becoming a licensed CPA.
I am a motivated student pursuing an accounting degree from The Isenberg School of Management. As a student, my goals consist of completing the educational requirements for CPA compliancy, and obtaining vital exposure to the accounting field. I am developing technical skills at school that are imperative to my prospective field. Also, I am making the most out of my educational experience by joining organizations (Beta Alpha Psi), networking, and utilizing the vast amount of rich resources offered through Isenberg.
During the summer of 2013, I was an accounting intern for a non-profit organization called The March of Dimes Foundation. They were founded over seventy years ago in hopes of decreasing birth defects and improving health for pregnant women and their babies. That internship legitimately advanced my team skills. I was responsible for analyzing financial statements, budgeting events, and completing various financial projects. I was able handle these responsibilities by effectively collaborating with other interns. I am now able to take away these skills and apply them in my future endeavors, particularly working in teams with clients.
The CPA exam is not just a field requirement, it is the goal that is motivating me as a growing business student. I believe this qualification will foster amazing opportunities for growth in my career. It is a goal that I am proud to be pursuing, and it will evolve into a feeling of self-fulfillment. This will enable me to perform assurance services, particularly financial statement audits, the work that interests me. I want to help protect businesses to my highest level of integrity, which I know will constitute a fun, ambitious, and fulfilling career.
