Tim Flanagan

I am a middle school social studies and photography teacher at Stonington Middle School in Stonington, Connecticut USA. I hold a sixth-year degree in Instructional Technology and Digital Media Literacies from the University of New Haven. I am interested in continuing to incorporate technology into my classroom to promote digital literacies, and would also like to connect with other classrooms to develop global competencies in my students.
During the 2016-17 school year, I took a leave of absence traveling, teaching and blogging around the world, including four months in Vietnam as a Fulbright Distinguished Teacher.
I am currently (2020-21) a fellow in the Fund for Teachers/Facing History and Ourselves Teaching for Equity and Justice Circle. I am working with facilitators and ten educators from across the country to implement antiracist teaching practices in our schools. I look forward to continuing this work and writing about it on my blog in the coming years.
