I have a passion for things that spike an adrenaline rush. From a very young age I was into dirt biking and Mountain biking. I quickly progressed throughout the years and it became a passion of mine that I could not go without doing.
Over the course of progressing, failure is inevitable, and in failing, you learn. Learning a new trick or facing fears to go bigger and bigger tests your ability to look failure in the face and push it aside, and get done what needs to get done. I call this having your Game Face on. Learning that persistence and hard work will get you through the hard times and put you on top where you belong is a great feeling. Once you’ve accomplished that goal, it’s onto the next one. Progression is a very addictive thing in that if you slow down progressing, you feel as if life has been brought to a halt. I have also brought this principle into the gym and it has helped me immensely. When you hit a plateau at the gym it feels like an eternity before you push through it, but with motivation from friends, icons, and some knowledge, the task seems much more like one more stepping stone to add as opposed to progression just stopping. Not only helping people to become healthier but motivating people that are already in the gym to push themselves harder every day is a great ability that can be translated into business as well.
These lessons I’ve learned have been nothing but beneficial to my success in sports and in business. Sure there were some times where I wanted to quit, throw in the towel and call it a day, but knowing full well that if I were to do such a thing, I would not be using my full potential and that, in the long run, is a bigger pain than pushing that little extra bit to get the job done. In business, there will always be people trying to slow down your success or get in the way, due to dislike, competition, or just plain selfishness. You cannot let this get you down, it’s your life to live and what other people choose to do with their time, productive or not, cannot impact your success. If you have a dream, use every resource, connection, and piece of advice you can get your hands on, it may just be the missing piece to the puzzle that will make or break your chances at a successful life and career.
