Tim Haft was born in Adrian, Michigan on December 6, 1960, and grew up in New York City where he still resides today.

In elementary school Tim was the short, skinny kid with glasses who often got picked on. As a teen he learned that hard work, perseverance, and confidence were the keys to being able to compete athletically with bigger, faster, and stronger kids.

Tim was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and two herniated discs in his late 20s and spent a number of years on the sidelines in significant pain, but through movement reeducation, physical therapy, massage, and acupuncture he made a strong comeback and was able to once again play sports and participate in high impact exercise.

In 1998 Tim obtained his certification as a personal trainer from the American Council on Exercise and a short time later became a USA Track & Field Level 1 coach and a Stability Ball Instructor. Knee surgery in 2003 put an abrupt end to Tim’s long distance running habit, but the silver lining was that it led him to create Punk Rope (www.punkrope.com) and Beastanetics Boot Camp (www.beastanetics.com).

Punk Rope, which launched in 2004, is the embodiment of Tim’s fitness philosophy. It’s a celebration of play, creativity, community, and rock and roll, and was designed for those who have shunned the gym and, in many cases, their own bodies.

Beastanetics is just plain hard. Okay downright brutal is more like it.

Tim’s dream is for you to fall in love with movement as much as he has, and to find whatever it takes to remain active and healthy your entire life.
