Timothy Garvey
Amherst, Massachusetts
I am currently a junior in the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massacusetts Amherst, within the Commonwealth Honors College. I am a candidate to graduate in the spring of 2015 with both a BBA degree in Finance and a degree in Economics. I grew up in Franklin, Massachusetts where I learned the importance of family, friends, and helping out in the community.
Schoolwork has always been a top priority of mine throughout my life and I consider myself a very motivated and driven student. I'm aspiring to use the knowledge and skills I learn here at UMass as a means to get into a prestigious graduate school that will hopefully lead to a successful career in the field of finance.
Although performing well academically is a top priority of mine, I also stress the importance of remaning well rounded. I've played basketball and baseball my whole life and I am an avid Boston sports fan. I love to compete and sports have provided me with opportunties both to try and outperform the other team, but also outperform my own expectations.
After taking several finance courses so far and having interned at State Street Corporation the last two summers, I have become very passionate about pursuing a career on Wall Street. I strive to achieve at my highest potential and I believe working on Wall Street will help me accomplish that.
