Taipei, Taiwan

Hello, my name is Timothy Shu and I will be serving as the Deputy Secratary General of the International Court of Justice for OMUN.

I live in Taipei, Taiwan. In case you don't know what and where Taiwan is. It is a small island east of China that IS NOT, and WILL NOT be a part of China. Unlike Hong Kong or Tibet, we see ourselve as an indepent and soverign nation. Unfortunately, although the world sees Taiwan as a letitimate country yet due to China's infamous effort to thwart our strive to global recognition, Taiwan is still not able to vote in the United Nations. Nevertheless, people in Taiwan generally live harmony and positive peace (for those of you who take International Relations course).

I am currently attending Taipei American School. As of 2013, I am a rising sophmore (9-10). I have been a part of MUN since 7th grade and had first participated in an ICJ conference in 9th grade, since then I had extensively immersed myself in the fantastic world of ICJ.

I am definetly a lover of ICJ. I think it is a very exciting and mindblowing "sport" that should receive the same degree of recognition as MUN and (in my opinion) someitmes it is even more fun than MUN. But unfortunately, although ICJ is without doubt one of the most intense, complicated and inspiring extra-curricilar activities of all times, yet it is not widely known and practiced, like MUN.

So my vision and hope for 2013 is to use OMUN as a platform to introduce the International Court of Justice to the world in its "freshest", "purest", "most mind-blowing" form. Thus further encouraging and inspiring young students to dig deeper into the field of ICJ and spread it across the world.

I WANT TO MAKE ICJ A "SPORT" THAT WILL SERVE AS AN UNDIMINISHING SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE, PLEASURE AND COLLABORATION FOR SELF-MOTIVATED STUDENTS ALL AROUND THE WORLD.
