Tim Rooney
Philadelphia, PA
Thanks for visiting. My name's Tim Rooney. Right now I'm attending La Salle University to gain my Masters in Theology. From 2012-2013 I served a year in Los Angeles with the Jesuit Volunteer Corps at Verbum Dei High School. At Verb I worked in the Christian Service and College Guidance offices. I'm a graduate of Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania. I graduated Magnum Cum Laude and with the Honors Program with a degree in English and concentration in Film and Media Studies. I've written papers on everything from Shakespeare and Jack Kerouac to Arrested Development and Superman. I think a key component of a liberally educated person is the ability to apply ones skills to every part of their life.
My path in life is to find innovative ways to serve others, utilize my skills as a writer and live out my passion. My time at Cabrini and my work at Verbum Dei have taught me to put my gifts into action in service to others.
As for what I do for fun...I love to write and try to maintain blogs to further that passion.I also enjoy reading and am a devourer of quality television and movies. From cartoons to sitcoms to action and scifi to primetime drama, I'm an avid student of media and appreciate the art of the moving image. I also love super heroes, comic books, and anything to do with them. I have written academically and for blogs about this passion and the cultural significance I feel these stories hold.
Currently, I write at Untied Magazine sharing my thoughts on comic related goodness.
