Tim Johnson

Saginaw, Michigan

Born to a middle class couple in the heart of Michigan Tim Johnson learned the value of hard work, creativity and dedication to the community at an early age, principles he has carried with him throughout his life.

Upon graduating from Nouvel Catholic Central High School, where he earned a gray cord for community service, Tim enrolled in Lake Superior State University. Pursuing a double major in Political Science and History he was recognized for his contributions to the History Department with the Milton Scherer Memorial Scholarship for his pursuit of scholastic excellence. Outside of the classroom Tim was equally committed to his role as Student Manager of the Lake Superior Varsity Hockey Team, twice receiving Gil Somes Award as the Top Student Manager at the University.

While working on a Master of Arts in Government with a double concentration in Political Management and Homeland Security Tim served as a Unit Director for the Republican Party of Virginia in the 2007, learning the valuable lessons in political and community organizing and grassroots activism that can only be learned outside of the classroom. He would later put what he learned in and out of school as Director of Government Affairs for Hampton Roads Hydrogen, successfully lobbying the Virginia legislature to further the cause of hydrogen energy and as a Political Director on a number of Campaigns in Virginia where he set records in voter contact and volunteer recruitment as a Republican in heavily Democratic areas. Specializing in liaison and outreach work Tim has been successful, even with tight budget constraints, at maximizing turnout, time and time again proving that diligence and hard work can out maneuver even the strongest campaign.

Recently Tim has returned to Michigan to care for his aging grandmother and father, knowing there is no gre
