Hi! I'm Tim Sears, and I create amazing things.
I'm an award-winning .NET and iOS developer from Portland, OR who pushes boundaries with what's possible on the web and mobile devices. I work for ISITE Design, a digital agency in Portland, Boston and L.A., where I help clients make mobile experiences come to life.
In 2009, I created twendz, a real-time Twitter monitoring and auto-sentiment web app that has been used over 5 million times. twendz won several awards including the International Business Award for Best New Product 2009 (Software) and the PRWeek Innovation of the Year Award. We even built a pro version!
Robotvision (2009) was one of first augmented reality browsers for iPhone. It was featured in over 350 publications including ReadWriteWeb and TechCrunch, and has been the basis for several other augmented reality apps on the App Store.
In 2010, Tyler Sticka and I launched Backabit, a mobile game company along with our first game Ramps, recently featured by Apple as iPhone Game of the Week and by IGN as iPhone Game of the Day. Ramps held a spot in the App Store Top 10 for about a week. Here's how we did it!
Earlier this year, my iOS work for Hot Spots @ SXSW rose above the noise at SXSW and was hailed by RWW, CNN and others as a must-have app for SXSW.
