Tim Smalley has over 17 years of experience in driving business growth and results across three main disciplines in the technology industry: product management, marketing and brand building.

He is an award-winning product marketing consultant, and helps high-growth tech and SaaS companies to get inside the minds of their customers and prospects. He uses this information to develop high-growth product and market strategies using a robust outcome-driven framework that delivers results.

Tim grew up in the Midlands, but moved to London to continue his studies at Imperial College. During his first year of a Materials Science degree, he co-founded bit-tech.net, a highly disruptive online magazine for tech enthusiasts. Tim was responsible for leading both the team of award-winning journalists and our website development.

After securing investment in 2005, bit-tech went on to become the market leader in its sector, attracting over 2 million monthly unique visitors and 30 million page views by the end of 2008. At this point, it was acquired by Dennis Publishing.

Tim then founded Expert Reviews, a consumer tech magazine, which went onto establish a market-leading position within 12 months of launch. It gathered more than 1.5 million monthly unique visitors and more than a million in revenue in its first year.

He then transitioned from publishing to become a technology marketer in 2011, joining ASUS's global marketing team. During a four-year tenure, he led the development of the company’s digital marketing channels before creating a new strategic product marketing department inside the company. He developed a robust framework that guided the launch of category-defining products including ZenBook, Nexus 7 by ASUS, ZenFone and ZenWatch.

In 2015, he joined UK2 Group as 100TB's third employee; during a two-and-a-half-year spell, 100TB achieved rapid growth off the back of significant transformations in its product and market strategies, and was soon responsible for more than half of Group revenue. The company was acquired in 2017.

Tim left to start Stratomic, an outcome-driven product marketing consultancy. He works with tech and SaaS companies to develop robust high-growth strategies. He is also a resident mentor and keynote speaker at Accelerator Network, where he supports aspiring entrepreneurs through the early stages of business development.
