Bio
I am a tech-driven event professional with a passion for bridging the gap between high-end video production and information technology. Currently serving as Shark Master (Technical Lead) atThe Poolhouse (Corda Campus, Hasselt), I specialize in the integration of IT with live video techniques for physical, hybrid, and online events.
With a Master’s degree in Computer Science (specializing in Data Management), I bring a unique analytical perspective to the event industry. I don’t just operate video; I engineer it. Whether it is programming custom APIs for automation, building custom playout solutions, or designing low-latency IMAG setups, I ensure that technology serves the creative vision of every production.
What I Do
I spearhead technical execution for complex video installations, including:
- Live Video & IMAG: Expert-level vision mixing and multi-camera captation for events of all scales and formats, inlcuding livestream and local television broadcast.
- System Integration: Blending software and hardware to create custom solutions, from automated video playout to interactive web apps and analytics for live audiences.
- LED & Projection: Advanced configuration of LED walls (Novastar expert) and large-scale projections.
- Hybrid & Remote Production: Connecting multiple event locations via low-latency video links and cloud-based streaming.
Technical Expertise
In the years I discovered my passion, I came accross different hard- and software solutions that I wanted to master.
- Hardware: Deep experience with Blackmagic Design (switchers, cameras), Roland video switchers, Novastar, and professional broadcast systems (Sony and Panasonic).
- Software & Protocols: Certified vMix and Dante professional. Fluent in NDI, SRT, and RTMP.
- Post-Production: Certified DaVinci Resolve Trainer with skills in Editing, Color Grading, Fusion, and Fairlight.
- Development: Custom tool creation using Bitfocus Companion, QLab, custom web graphics and software development to streamline event and broadcast workflows.

My Journey
My career is a timeline of evolving passions:
- 2012: Discovered the world of video production.
- 2014: Began my academic journey in Computer Science at Hasselt University.
- 2017: Fully embraced the event industry and was lead organizer of TEDx events.
- 2018: Founded my own video production company, Potvos.
- 2020: Conducted specialized research into 360-degree video and automatic camera control and directing.
- 2023: Joined forces with Total-e
- 2024:Became technical lead ofThe Poolhouse to facilitate technical innovation in the event and broadcast space.
