Tim Wenkel’s career in public school athletics spanned more than a decade. Highlighting Tim Wenkel’s career was six years as the head boys’ basketball coach at Hermann High School in Hermann, Missouri.
Mr. Wenkel took Hermann to five tournament championships. In 2010, the Bearcats won the district championship for the first time in 31 years, earning him coach of the year honors. Four of his students moved on to college basketball and 28 of them were named academic all-conference. He also led the track and field team, and taught health and physical education.
Before Hermann, he served as an assistant basketball coach at Steelville High under the legendary Steve Boeh. Mr. Wenkel organized summer camps and conditioning programs, and taught physical education at the elementary level. Other experience included working as an assistant coach for Chamois High boys basketball, where he took on weight training and track and field responsibilities, coaching girls basketball, and teaching religion and social studies.
Mr. Wenkel’s undergraduate degree in secondary education (social studies) comes from Southeast Missouri State University, where he maintained a 3.64 grade point average. He also earned a theology degree at Conception Seminary College in Missouri.
In the business world, Mr. Wenkel owns and operates a franchise for Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning, earning top customer satisfaction ratings. He is also on track to graduate from Lincoln University in Pennsylvania with a master’s in agency counseling.
In his leisure time, his interests include home remodeling and décor, landscaping, and antiques.
