Tina and Ivan
Teacher in Concord, Massachusetts
Tina and I are accomplished creative artists and arts educators. I am a facilitator of projects and events. I am a trained Theatre Designer, working in Academic Technology. I can offer a unparalleled expertise in solving problems. Tina is responsible for directing and choreographing plays and running a large performing arts department. She has directed countless plays, musicals, and performances. Her specialty is in working on Theatre of the Oppressed, a documentary theatre process which she studied under Augusto Boal. Tina produces an average of fourteen events per year ranging from jazz concerts to large-scale theatrical productions, and she could certainly contribute in a plethora of ways to the many events that occur on site.
I believe that our experience in marketing and promotional communications would be of most use to open studios.
I am interested in developing some mobile apps for enabling socially-curated museum tours. I would like to test out some on these ideas with working artists. Everything from artists notes and background information to linking pieces to larger portfolios. I believe that certain standards could be developed to best capitalize on current technology.
I need safe, secure space to hold my vast amounts of technology. Sometimes inspiration strikes in the middle of the night, and traveling to another location just isn't practical. I need space for computers, photo equipment, bins of cables, and a drill press. I am interested in investing in 3D printing technology (I am a Maker), and lack an area where I can set that up. The unit's patio is also perfect for when I might need to cut a little lumber (during appropriate times of the day).
For the most part, I seem to create colorful messes sprouting cables and metal shavings. I also enjoy the stimulus of creative people stymied by problems.
Well, I have yet to find anybody complaining about my obsessions with grilling, cooking, and mixing cocktails. After spending a 40 hour work-week designing technology solutions for schools, I don't think it would be sustainable for me to offer those services to the community, but should there be interest in setting up wireless in the common spaces, or deciding in investing in a particular brand of multimedia device for the gallery, I would gladly opine about best practices.
