Tina Stevens

Tina K Stevens has exhibited since 2005. She began as a painter, but switched to sculpture in 2003. Her sculptural work began with a series using hot glue as medium. The intent in these works was to utilize a recognizable material in a non-traditional way. She currently works with groupings and arrangements of materials that at times are unidentifiable, but often ordinary. Within this otherwise simple idea lies an underlying dialogue between the aesthetics of the materials and their final configuration. Her work has been included in such shows as Under My Skin at Galeria de Arte Mexico, MX which was curated by Edgar Orlaineta and Currents at Ben Shahn Galleries curated by Beth Venn (curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Newark Museum, NJ). Tina K Stevens lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
