I have always dreamed of becoming a writer, an author of romance novels. I didn't want to write just "any" romance, I wanted to write a story that would make a difference. When I left the workplace a few years ago, my dream came true. I was able to write on a full time basis. Since it was illness that made it impossible for me to work full time outside the home, it was at this time that God spoke to me and lifted me out of depression. He reminded me of the story he gave me long ago and how writing was the way he wanted me to serve him. Prior to my sickness, I worked in sales to put myself through nursing school. I then worked as an RN for several years while rasing our son. I suffer from severe Fibromyalgia, asthma and other autoimmune disorders. So, chin up, I bought a great laptop and filled my home library with every book on writing that you could possibly think of. My words kept pouring out of me. Before I knew it I had a story, although it was still too rough around the edges to expect an agent or publisher to take it seriously. During the past 3-4 years I have joined several writing clubs such as the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) I knew that I wanted my book to lift up the reader and send a message about God and how we each might have a personal relationship with him. I began to speak at womens retreats, marriages retreats and at book club meetings. I was writing an Inspirational Historical Romance that would be set in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park...in a small cove called Cades Cove. The history was rich with stories of how the lush valley was discovered and how it continued to grow until the National Park Service required every homeowner, landowner to leave their home behind. With the creation of the National Park, it meant that people had to leave their home, their heritage behind. The church cemetaries stand as a testimate to the time when this small valley seemed to always pull together, through war, flood, and disease
