Paul has worked for 11 years as a journalist with Australian Associated Press (AAP), mostly in its Sydney news and sports bureaus. His ability was rewarded with promotions to senior reporting rounds - Sydney Police Reporter and Sydney AFL roundsman. His reliability was recognised with a two-year solo posting as AAP's Tasmania Correspondent. Using his judgment, resourcefulness and creativity Paul successfully serviced a broad national interest in Tasmania after setting up office in Hobart. He has had reporting, sub-editing, production and chief-of-staff roles across newspaper, broadcast, digital and social media platforms, writing hard news and sport reports on events as they happen, as well as feature articles, opinion and analysis. Paul has also held senior editing and production roles involving staff management and being in-charge of operations. He lives in Melbourne and is returning to work after two years as a stay-at-home dad, during which time he also studied a university horticulture degree.
