Tinky Timmons
Tinky Timmons
•Ms. Timmons is a Certified Therapeutic Harp Practitioner. She graduated from the International Harp Therapy Program out of San Diego, California. This program is affiliated with Planetree Hospitals of America and is accredited by the National Standards Board of Therapeutic Musicians.
•Tinky plays music from a variety of genres including: popular, classical, Celtic, spiritual and improvisational. Her music creates a sense of calm and peace, allowing healing to take place. Patients have experienced physical changes such as a reduced heartbeat, lowered blood pressure and we have determined that the harp music has alleviated the need of restraints for some patients. There is also an added advantage to bringing a sense of calm to the doctors and staff who manage the daily routine of caring for patients and for the caretakers as well.
•Tinky has been playing at Levine and Dickson Hospice House since 2009 and has played in the Emergency Department at Carolina Medical Center – Main where she also participated in a music research project in the Progressive and Medical Intensive Care Units.
•She has experience playing for people in hospital Intensive Care Units, for end of life situations, people getting massages, meditation groups, caregiver groups, nursing homes, memorial services, children recovering from trauma, cancer patients and many other situations both joyous and solemn. She has also played on several meditation CDs.
