Tinsley McCall
Student, Volunteer, and Photographer in Athens, GA
Hey! I'm Tinsley McCall, and I am a freshman here at UGA. I was extremely excited after being accepted to UGA, because I am from a small town where my resources were limited. However, I knew that at UGA, the sky would be the limit for me, because a university this size provides endless opportunities.
I am a fan of travel, education, and animals. I am extremely passionate about volunteering and making a difference in the lives of others. With that being said, I am a Linguistics major and wish to travel and teach in foreign countries. I feel that this career path perfectly combines my passion for travel and for making a difference in the lives of others. I am in a sorority here at UGA, and I am most excited about the philanthropic opportunities and new friendships that await me. I have always been open to new friendships and have a strong desire to make connections with people around me. This passion was another driving factor which led to my desire and life goal of becoming an educator. My innate desire to explore the world around me is also what led to my decision of leaving my small town and coming to this huge SEC school.
While I enjoy traveling and impacting others, I am also passionate about helping animals in need. I have always been known in my community for taking in strays or abandoned baby animals. I have successfully raised a baby squirrel, baby bird, rabbit, and only last week, I found a stray dog a new family.
My passions are what I believe makes me who I am, and I cannot wait to see what all this place has in store for me as these next four years of my life begin to unravel.
