I am a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Studies.
I am also a computer professional who has known the world wide web since it was a little baby. (It was so cute!)
I am fascinated by things that are technical and specific. This (nerdyness, if you will) has lead me down a gratifying career path which has included work as a certified electronics technician, software engineer and graphic designer.
During my 20 year career as a technical professional, I have held many other internet related job titles (web application developer, C#.Net developer, etc), as well. I have had the opportunity to watch and participate as the internet evolved, emerging as a dominant cultural medium.
After years of viewing the ebb and flow of this infinitely influential cloud of information and functionality as a witness and an insider, I am still transfixed.
In particular, I find the concepts and considerations involved in defending and breaching internet security intriguing. The subject has direct relevance to our daily lives in many ways, not limited to online banking, medical confidentiality and social networking.
As a result, I am compelled by interest to study the details, practices, breaking news ... and minutia of internet security, particularly as those elements relate to programming and general defensive tactics for internet professionals and casual users of the internet.
