TJ Sally A rainmaker is a person who brings in new business, opportunities, clients and wins new accounts through charisma, personal & business relations. This term was generally applied to the legal profession. According to one view, the role of the rainmaker is to find a dormant business problem and then create a vision of what life could be like if that problem were solved. Today that term can be liberally applied to the sales associate who attains the company's goal first, the employee who brings in good fortune, or the social marketing director that succeeds in gaining positive business exposure. In my situation, I found it best to combine a leadership opportunity with something for which I had a passion or interest; helping people. When you believe in the mission or find something you love, it's easier to motivate yourself, dedicate the time and do the best possible job. Leadership skills are inherent in rainmaking, career success and advancement. So, I recommend gaining exposure to as many of these opportunities as possible throughout your life and career. I would summarize myself by stating that I am committed to reinventing myself daily, striving for excellence in all that I partake, continuing to improve already existing relationships and seeking new friends be it business or personal. My objectives??? Strive for the stars in whatever I do – I'm bound to catch some just for the reaching (or the sometimes falling)!!!
