Timothy Kirkconnell

Welcome to my landing page. In both my personal and professional life, my goal is to grow through taking advantage of every opportunity I can. Currently, I am working to develop my credentials and skill set at work and in a graduate degree program. The connections I have made with people have been one of the most valuable and rewarding aspects of my efforts. In order to facilitate ongoing communication and networking with my colleagues and friends, I've created this page to serve as a long-term landing point where I can be reached, and where I can reach out to others.

I've taken every opportunity to travel that I could, which has fostered a deep appreciation for issues that cross borders and require complex solutions that integrate multiple stakeholder interests. When I was offered the chance to work with the U.S. State department, I moved from my hometown on the west coast of Florida to the Washington, DC area. My continuing work with State has been a source of great personal and intellectual excitement for me, as I have found myself working on topics on the cutting edge of the Information Technology and Telecommunication field; at present, this work has included topics such as Internet governance, data privacy, telecommunication policy and capacity building in multiple areas.

I look forward to developing a deeper understanding of the rapidly changing forces that shape global communications, and a broader perspective on the people and issues that drive these forces.
