As a young girl, I struggled with my curls. Having a white mother and a black father proved to be a bittersweet blessing. My mother had no idea what to do with this mass of curls, and my father, lacking the feminine gene, looked at me up upthrown arms. "Sorry kid."

It was at the tender age of about 11, when I looked in the mirror before school. My mom had dashed off, and my dad was busy getting ready for his day. My sister had no intention on helping me, as she was busy grabbing a snack from the fridge. "well hair, I guess it's just you and me."

That's when it began. The journey to capture, embrace, and figure out my crazy curls. 20 years later, I've got it.

Now.. I'm here to help you, and your curly hair kids too!
