Tlamelo Nyabane
Student in Johannesburg, South Africa
I am a third-year Bachelor of Education student in the Senior and Further Education and Training phase at the University of Johannesburg. My majors are English and Physical Education.
I choose English as one of my majors because it is the most widely spoken language in the world, yet it is not given as much attention as it requires in some schools, particularly in rural areas. I aim to be a modern teacher who advocates for change and provides my learners with better education as compared to mine. In addition, I chose Physical Education as one of my majors because I have a passion for sports, and I have always participated in athletics from a young age. The love I have for sports motivated me to pursue a career in Physical Education, with the aim of restoring its importance in schools, because it is not always regarded as a critical subject, yet it has significant benefits for learner's physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Which can positively impact their academic performance.
In summary, I have a passion for language and sports, and I am committed to becoming an effective teacher who can inspire positive change and provide high-quality education to my students. My teaching philosophy is to prioritize quality education for my learners, bringing change to the classroom, and ensuring that all learners are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in life. All in all, my teaching philosophy is student-centered, which focuses on creating a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic success and personal growth.
