My name is Tinaja Lyons currently residing in Durham, NC. I attended Durham High School graduated in 1990. With the plans of attending college for Business Adminstration and also finishing up my hours to become an Licensed Cosmetologist. Shortly after graduating I became a single mom with a disable child that enabled my mind as a young mother to pursue my college dreams.

Despite my challenges, I managed to pick myself up get the necessary help for my child and complete my hours as a Cosmetoligist at Carolina Beauty College. Proud to say in 1991 I graduated from there and able to go to the State Board of Cosmetic Arts to obtain my licesenes.

After doing hair for four years my career of doing hair became a fantacy. My health began to declined where I was unable to perform services anymore. Not giving up I continued my education at Durham technical Community College with the concentration in Early Childhood. I attended there for two years. Then I was faced with a unplanned pregnancy that landed me in the hospital on bedrest for 4 months. This child too was also disabled but more servere. Once again my path was disrupted. So education was placed on hold for a while.

Several years later I am now a Junior at North Carolina Central University concentration Child Family and Relations. My goal is to acheive the highest education I can and finish college. I am so looking foward to graduating in 2015.

My passion is helping young women that are in similiar situation as I have been in. Giving them inspiration and hope to be the best at whatever it is they would like to be in life. It's has been and still is a tough road for me but I remain keeping faith and beliving that God is always walking with me.
