Taric Matticks

Hi my names Taric, but most people call me TJ. I'm a final year undergraduate studying Computer Science in City University London’s School of Informatics. For those of you that do not know me I'm really interested in community engagement, widening participation and social entrepreneurship.

Some of you may know me from the various other extra-curricular activities I participate in around the university such as: being a Student Ambassador, being a part 3 programme representative for my course, establishing & leading the graphic design team within African Caribbean Society (ACS), participating in the professional mentoring scheme, being nominated for & participating in the student skills award pilot, founding & project managing eCUBS, participating in the Computing Society & the programming club within the university, & unofficial mentoring (since there is no official mentoring programme in the school of informatics). I have also recently become the leader of the ACS since our president’s resignation.

Outside of university I'm a digital technician at Digitally Maintained and computer technician at Blue Sky Computer Services. I also tutor Maths & English at a secondary school and teach IT to the elderly at a community centre. My hobbies are long distance running and playing basketball, and I run for East End Road Runners.
