I am a student looking to be afforded the opportunity to have a title other than “student”.

While many other words could be used to describe me at different points in my life, “student” has stuck with me the longest, at this point like a visitor who has long overstayed their welcome. After high school, I pursued the titles of “computer scientist” and “millionaire” while briefly obtaining “expatriate” while I studied in Canada. Following a couple of years of school and a great deal of disillusionment, I decided those were titles I didn’t want to hold. I then chose to make my non-professional title of “animal lover” into one of more substance. For a year I was then known as “intern” and “guy Taylor” at my job at a vet clinic, which happened to have three people named Taylor, and then I came to the University of Georgia with a fresh, concrete goal: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Aside from the annoyingly tenacious “student”, “farmer” and “sleepless” are applicable to me as I work at a dairy farm that requires I often report to work at 3 AM. All the titles and moniker boil down to my journey to attaining the one I’ve wanted since the start, “fulfilled”.
